Charles S. Winiarski, 49, has lived in Amherst for 19 years. He and his wife, Dana, have a 16-year-old daughter, Megan.
He said if re-elected, he will continue focusing his efforts on local business, revenue and the 3rd ward.
With little new land available for development, Winiarski said it is imperative to support existing businesses by dealing with permits, getting utilities, taxes, road or rail access, police, fire, labor pool and housing. He also plans to continuously support ordinances which would require inspection and maintenance codes for rental properties in the 3rd Ward. Winiarski said he hopes to maintain the city's revenue by keeping Amherst a nice place to live and do business.
“My passions are community development and keeping Amherst attractive to good people looking for a nice place to live,” Winiarski said. “Our tax rate, utilities, schools and families are the envy of the communities around us. The next five years are critical to what Amherst will be 20 years from now.”
